{ The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself The morning was of newleaf brought a warming sun, the end of leafbare and the start of plentiful prey. Sweet smelling flowers, chirping birds, and a bit more of a cheerful feeling. The camp bustling with activity within the camp under the great willow tree. Cats roaming about doing whatever it is they do. Talking, sharing tongues, kits playing, or preparing to go out on patrol. All except one particular feline. Frostsong was resting on top of one of the roots of the willow tree. His body stretched out as the tom lounged under the shade the tree provided. Some speckles of sunlight piercing through the willow's barrier to gently rest upon his glorious beautiful white fur. Prince of Lakeclan. Well, at least he'd call himself that. After all, he was the son of Graystar. Although a foster son, Frostsong was still a bit proud to have the leader as a father figure. Honestly, he probably couldn't ask for a better one. Nothing like Slatefrost. The old grump. Ears flicking gently as he thoughtfully wondered what Silvermist and Snowberry were up to, he gave a soft yawn, stretching out his body as he lazily curled up. Brushing his glorious fluffy tail around himself as he continued to be relaxed and laze around. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Graystar | Tom | Lakeclan "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." A light gray figure appeared from under the roots, pushing his way out of the entrance to the Leader's den. He let out a soft purr as he felt the a few small rays of the morning sun breaking through the willow's cover, today would be a good day for hunting. He had a mountain of worries, and was happy today would relieve him of at least one problem. The passing of leafbare was a relief, though the clan had suffered a grievous loss that leafbare, Graystar did not let his grief show. He had to remain strong, not only for the clan, but for himself as well.
He looked around camp as he stretched, noticing the frosty white cat on the roots of the willow. He smiled at the tom, happy to seem him at least out of the den this early. He jumped onto the roots and padded over to the white puffball. "Well, well. If it isn't my little prince. How are you this fine morning, Frostsong?" He said with a rather chipper mew.

{ The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself Blue eyes slowly cracked open, blinking a few times to get used to the light of day. Ears twitching as he heard a all too familiar voice. Turning his gaze to look at the gray tom, the white feline stretched out a little before managing to sit up in a proper dignified position. Giving his chest fur just a couple of licks before his blue eyes slightly brightened as he gazed upon the leader of the clan. And the only father he really knew. "Morning Dad. I'm doing quite well this morning. It's finally warm enough to actually sun bathe. Seems like you're enjoying it too I see?" Frostsong replied with a soft amused purr towards his adoptive father. Graystar | Tom | Lakeclan "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." He flinched a bit at the word 'dad', the term still being a little painful since his father's recent death. Though he recovered quickly. Not trying to show his sadness in front of others, especially his own foster son. The gray tom smirked as his son sat up, being all proper and princely. Graystar sat beside him in a more slouched position and booped the tom on his petal pink nose with a forepaw.
"You know I prefer to be relaxed, and yes, I am enjoying the pleasant newleaf." The tom said as he slid down a bit, now stretched out across the large willow's roots.

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Ear flicking a little as the white tom noticed Graystar slightly flinch. Blue eyes slightly glimmering with sympathy. He forgot that not too long ago, Ashstar had passed on. It would seem that the pain still plagued the leader. Not that Frostsong could really blame him. After all, it was a heavy loss and the white tom was sure he wouldn't be taking it so well if Graystar had passed. Frostsong wasn't necessarily close with his adoptive grandfather, however the previous leader did allow him to stay in the clan. Petal pink nose twitching as he felt a paw touch against it, Frostsong gave a amused playful glare towards Graystar as he watched the older tom stretch out amongst the roots. Rolling his eyes, the young prince followed his foster father's lead and stretched out against the roots as well. Fluffy white fur pressing against Graystar's short lithe pelt. Perhaps to offer mild comfort. "I can't argue with that. And here I thought you'd be stressing out more than a fish out of water." Frostsong teased. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Graystar | Tom | Lakeclan "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." The gray tom's yellow-green eyes fell on his son. "ME? Stressed? Never." He said as he let out a nervous chuckle. He wouldn't say it, but the heavy weight of being a new leader was overwhelming the young tom. Though he appreciated the comfort he felt from the white tom's pelt.
He lowered his head as he drew his eyes away from the white tom. He narrowed his gaze as his head laid down on his paws, glancing over the clan's camp. Father, will I be alright? Will I be able to fill the hole left by you? He was still unsure why he was chosen over his brother though he did not question it. He seemed to be lost in thought as he looked over the camp.

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Frostsong watched his foster father answer him with a slight nervous chuckle, before the gray tom rested his head on his paws as he thoughtfully stared around the camp. Thinking for a moment, the white younger tom flicked his blue gaze over the bustling camp of Lakeclan. It hadn't been too long now since he himself became a warrior, and Ashstar joined Starclan. It all felt just a little surreal. He could remember the days when he was a kit like it was yesterday. Playing little games with Snowkit and Silverkit. Or more so dragging them into it since Silverkit was the stubborn one and Snowkit was too shy to try on her own. Often, he remembered seeing more of Graystar than their own blood father, Slatefrost. "Yeah, you're right. Don't know why you would be anyway. You're a natural." Frostsong gave a melodic thoughtful purr as he nonchalantly lifted his left paw and started to groom it. Graystar "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." Graystar scoffed at his son's comment. A natural? Maybe at swimming, but leading? Nah. Despite his self-doubt, he appreciated his son's kind words. The tom lifting his head once again to look at the white warrior. He was lucky to have him as a foster son and prince of his clan. Though others may not accept it, Graystar does.
The tom took a deep breath, taking in all the scents around him. There was the strong smell of the lake and a hint of rabbit. This made Graystar realize he hadn't eaten since midday the previous day and his stomach was rather unhappy with how empty it felt. "Would you like to grab some breakfast?" He stood, bumping gently into Frostsong.

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Ears perking at his father's question, the white warrior's petal pink nose twitching thoughtfully. At that moment, he felt his stomach rumble a little bit and gave a soft melodic purr of amusement. Supposed breakfast wouldn't hurt after all anyway. A empty stomach was a unhappy one and no way to relax after all. "Sure that sounds nice. A nice meal would complete this pleasant morning." Frostsong mewed as he got up to his paws, flicking his glorious fluffy tail against the leader's shoulder before leaping off of their perch on top of the roots. Padding over to the fresh-kill pile, the small warrior looked over the pieces of prey. Already starting to grow thanks to the plentiful newleaf. Which was good news, since leafbare had been quite harsh that it took quite a few lives along with it. Finding the perfect piece, a delicious looking fish, the tom gripped it by the neck and lifted it a bit away from the pile before lying down to delicately nibble at it. Glancing up from his meal, Frostsong looked to Graystar. "So anything interesting happen to you lately dad?" he asked. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Graystar "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." The light gray tom leaped down after Frostsong, following the white tom to the fresh-kill pile. He wasn't really picky about his meals, though rabbit was his favorite. He picked out a nice sized rabbit and laid down beside his son, taking a few small bites as Frostsong asked him a question.
"You mean other than becoming leader of our clan?" He asked with a smirk. "Well Slatefrost and I got into an argument...again. He wants me to start choosing who will be mates like Hawkstar did. Though he has more selfish reasons than the previous leader I presume. He even talked about finding Silvermist a mate already, shes still young, she needs time to find her own path. He is just so stubborn though, he doesn't think about others' feelings. Not to mention his disdain for you. You need to be careful around him, though others may accept you, he never will. And if anything happens to my little prince, there will be no Star powerful enough to stop me from hurting those that hurt you."
The gray tom's eyes narrowed as he shot a glance around camp, not seeing his elder brother. He relaxed a bit, though he was unsure if it was a good thing his brother wasn't in camp right now.

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Rolling his eyes at the snarky comment, the white tom returned the smirk and lightly smacked his fluffy tail against the leader's back. "Yes other than that, Father Dearest." he mewed, ears twitching and perking up a bit at the mention of Slatefrost. The younger tom's face lightly scrunching a bit in distaste at the mention of the older grouchy tom that always seemed to have a burr in his rump. Listening to the apparent proposition Slatefrost was pushing toward, Frostsong's ears lowered in annoyance before perking up at the mention of Silvermist. Blinking his blue eyes dumbfound for but a moment, Frostsong let out a laugh. Glad he managed to swallow a mouthful otherwise he was sure he'd choke from the abrupt laughter. "Silvy?! With a mate? Hah that'll be the day! No way right now she'd sit still long enough for any tom. None the less any kits. She'd drive us all nuts being stir crazy in camp from being stuck in the nursery. Bet even Slatefrost would soon get tired of it and regret even thinking along those lines." The white tom as he tried to imagine the silver she-cat as a queen. Composing himself, the frost colored tom thought for a moment over his 'uncle' and probably the number one cat who hated Frostsong the most. Indeed, it probably wasn't best to leave his guard down around the large grouch. What was he gonna do though? Not like he was king or anything. "Yeah, well don't worry dad, he probably won't do anything too much. Hardly pays me too much mind. Unless I get in his business with Snowy and Silvy. Makes me glad you got to be king over him. Bet you he'd try and get rid of me the moment he got his new name." Frostsong huffed at the thought but puffed his chest out with a bright cheery smile. Feeling his chest swell with pride and joy at his father's affection and protective words. Birth parent or not, Graystar was really like a father and Frostsong could not be happier. "Thanks dad. Don't worry, I've got your back too! He may be bigger than me, and stronger... but hey, maybe I can just bicker his ears off?" Frostsong joked with a smirk. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Graystar "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." Graystar let out a hearty laugh at his son's reaction to the possibility of Silvermist being a queen. "Hah! You are probably right! She doesn't like being cooped up in camp at all." His eyes narrowed at the mention of Slatefrost getting rid of his son. "That will never happen, not as long as I still have a breath in me. I couldn't bear losing you too. Just be careful."
He paused for a moment, taking a few more bites of his meal as Frostsong spoke. The tom nearly choked as his son said he'd bicker Slatefrost's ears off. After a few attempts to swallow, his mouth and throat were clear again. "That might actually work." He teased, sticking his tongue out at the white tom.
Notes: Oh gosh those nicknames are adorable! We can have our little trio call each other Frosty, Snowy, and Silvy! ^^ Though Silver might get annoyed by the nickname she'd tolerate it cause she loves the white fluffballs. xD

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Smirking a bit at his father, proud that the gray tom was laughing a bit. Gently flicking his tail against Graystar's flank. Lightly raising a paw and playfully booping it against the revealed tongue of the leader. Graystar could be quite the worrywart, but he could be a goof sometimes when he actually took some breaths to relax a little bit. "Ah don't worry I'll be careful. Besides, Uncle Grouch will be more interested in the Gathering coming up anyways" Frostsong mewed with a wide grin. Soon the gathering would be here and it would be another exciting event. Cats would chat, leaders would give their little spiel and such. And of course, there would be many many handsome toms. Sure, Frostsong was Lakeclan through and through, but it didn't hurt to look at a little eyehoney right? All the ones around here were boring anyways. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Graystar "We are not measured by our strength, but by how we use what strength we have." He smirked at the young tom's words, uncle grouch being a good name for the older tom. Though the smirk quickly subsided, an anxious expression taking it's place. "Interesting in seeing me fail when addressing all the clans and in front of the other leaders, is what he's probably hoping for." Graystar was rather good at suppressing his emotions, though sometimes his nerves got the better of him. His tail twitched frantically as he thought about addressing everyone at the gathering, worried about whether or not the peace between the clans would last.
Though Graystar was rather clever, he knew he was not perfect, and his brother would do his best to make him look like a fool. "Speaking of, I was thinking of bringing you to this gathering as well." The gray tom grew quiet for a moment, clearly processing many thoughts. "Do you remember my recent trip to the Moon Crystal to receive the nine lives of a leader?" He paused for a moment, waiting on his son's response. That had been an important, yet hard journey for the small, short-haired tom. Summitclan's territory had been much harder for the smaller tom to navigate through the deep snow and he nearly froze on the way there, thankfully a patrol found him before he was seriously injured, they had taken him to Summitclan's medicine cat and after his journey to the Moon Crystal, they escorted him back to Lakeclan. Graystar had thanked Blizzardstar for his help and hoped that they could one day be good allies. Though the journey had been hard, the news he received when he got his nine lives, was very exciting.
He cleared his head, focusing back on Frostsong. "Well, as I received my nine lives, I got some great news." He paused for a moment, noticing many other cats in the camp. He did not want anyone else to know before he made the announcement at the gathering. "Ah, it needs to be kept quiet until the gathering though, care to join me in my den? We can speak privately there." The gray tom stood, picking up his unfinished meal and padding over to his den's entrance. He glanced back over his shoulder to look for Frostsong.

{ "The only way to love others, is if your able to love yourself" Frostsong's nose twitched a little at his father's words and rolled his frosty gaze and gave a confident purr. "Awe don't worry, you'll do fine. I mean, the other leaders are pretty new too right? So it isn't like you'll be the only rookie strutting in front of many cats." he mewed reassuringly. Ears twitching as he listened to the gray tom and the white tom puffed out his fluffy chest as he felt pride and joy well in him. Like he had absolutely no doubt he'd be attending the gathering. "Well of course you were. I am the most beautiful cat in Lakeclan. It'll help distract them from eyeing up the newbie King of the Lake." Frostsong teased as he playfully bumped his shoulder against Graystar. Tilting his head a little at the question, the small white fluffy tom nodded in response as he recalled the memory. "Yeah, you came back half frozen. Amazing you made it back. Those mountain cats always get the worst of leafbare. What about it?" he asked curiously, blinking his blue eyes toward the older gray tom. Blinking more as Graystar informed Frostsong that the leader had received good news from their ancestors, the white tom tilted his head curiously. News? Wonder what it was? Yet before Graystar continued, the leader ushered for them to be a bit more private by retreating in the den. Must be quite a surprise! And Frostsong was the one who got the honor of hearing it first! Naturally of course. He was the Prince of Lakeclan. "Alright, sure thing." Frostsong purred, clamping his mouth on his piece of prey and picking up, prancing after his father with his fluffy white tail high in the air proudly, though that was normal. The white tom's steps were graceful and elegant, like he was constantly dancing on the surface of water without falling in. Brushing passed his father and slipped into the den. The roots comfortably protecting the enclosed space that made it feel cozy. Not too big really since usually just the leader and his mate resided in here but it was still comfortable. Settling down in a comfortable spot amongst some comfortable moss and some reeds to mold a nest together. Placing his prey at his paws, Frostsong looked up to Graystar. "So, what is the good news?" he questioned as he tried to refrain showing just how eager and curious he was, using a calm tone though his blue eyes did sparkle a bit. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
